David Warner is one of the greatest white-ball batters of the game over the past decade. He has been part of some of the greatest squads of all time in his international as well as franchise career. The left-handed batter is considered to be one of the most dominant batters of this generation and has always been considered among the all-time greats of the Indian Premier League 2024.

The opener has played for two IPL franchises in his illustrious career and has played 176 games in the league. Throughout this time, he has been able to amass 6397 runs at a strike rate of close to 140. Despite this being his final year of playing international cricket, he would be looking to play in the league for some time.

The veteran opener is all set to embark on his 15th stint in the Indian Premier League and would be looking to make it a memorable one. His franchise, Delhi Capitals would be facing the Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. Let’s take a look at some of the milestones that the batter might be looking to achieve in their upcoming match.

Here are the 3 milestones that David Warner can achieve in IPL 2024 during DC vs PK:

3. 4 - David Warner (646) needs three fours to reach 650 fours in IPL

David Warner is considered to be one of the most stylish batters in the Indian Premier League. His amazing strokeplay has always seen him yield runs for him. He is known to find the gaps without much difficulty. Since he opens the batting for the team, he makes the best use of the powerplay and the rule of having just two fielders outside the 30-yard circle. This allows him to find the fours for the team and keep ticking the scoreboard.

The opener is just four-fours away from reaching the milestone of 650 in his Indian Premier League career. This is one of the milestones that he can achieve without much difficulty as he can glaze the inside circle for the boundary rope. Against the Punjab Kings bowlers, it may be difficult but no one can put it past Warner to achieve this milestone.

2.  10 - David Warner (226) needs 10 more sixes to overtake Virat Kohli in the list of the most number of sixes in IPL history

The Delhi Capitals opener is known to clear the fence as well and he does not shy away from going big at the crease. Across the 176 matches that he has played in the league thus far, Warner has been able to smash 226 sixes. If he can hit 10 more sixes in the upcoming game against Punjab Kings, he can overtake Virat Kohli in the list of most sixes hit in the history of the IPL.

This milestone might take some doing from the batter since the pitch at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium may not allow him to play so freely. The ground dimensions also play a role in this and since this is the first-ever IPL game at this ground, only time will tell whether he can scrape past Virat Kohli in this elite list.

1. 103 - David Warner (6,397) needs another 103 runs to reach 6,500 runs in the IPL

David Warner is known to make the best use of being set at the crease and can make it into a big knock. He has hit four hundreds in his IPL career so far and given that he opens the batting, he is more or less likely to hit a hundred if he is set at the crease. Punjab Kings’ would be looking to derail this milestone party as the franchise looks to start their campaign on the right note.

Warner needs 103 runs in the upcoming game to complete the rare feat of 6500 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League. This would just make him the third batter ever to have completed this milestone if he manages to do so in the upcoming game. It would be a great feeling for David Warner if he achieves this feat against Punjab Kings tomorrow at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
