Previous meetings on February 8, 12, and 15 failed to yield conclusive outcomes.</p> <p>Farm leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has urged the Centre to enact an ordinance providing a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP), stressing the nation's anticipation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address farmers' demands. Pandher expressed optimism about potential positive developments following Sunday's meeting, underscoring that the government now holds the responsibility to take decisive action.</p> <p>Asserting the Centre's authority to make political decisions, Pandher emphasised the importance of swift action, suggesting that an ordinance could be swiftly enacted to address farmers' concerns. The demand for a legal guarantee of MSP remains a core issue for farmers currently stationed at the borders of Punjab and Haryana.</p> <p>&ldquo;The whole country is looking to the powerful Prime Minister to gather up courage and take a decision on ordinance on legal guarantee to MSP and debt waiver." "We hope that we will get good news from tomorrow's meeting. We have not taken back our programme of going to Delhi. If they (the Centre) accept our demands, then the issue can get resolved. Now the ball is in the government's court,&rdquo; PTI quoted Pandher as saying.</p> <p><strong>Karnataka CM To Launch 'Asha Kirana' Programme Today</strong></p> <p>An official statement released on Saturday announced that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to inaugurate 'Asha Kirana &ndash; Eye Care at Your Doorstep' in Haveri on February 18, as part of the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment.</p> <p>The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, aims to provide comprehensive eye check-ups to individuals of all age groups under the 'Asha Kirana' scheme. Additionally, visually impaired individuals will receive free spectacles, and cataract surgeries will be conducted without any charge.</p> <p>The statement highlighted that 'Asha Kirana' has already been successfully implemented in eight districts across two phases. The first phase covered Chikkaballapur, Kalaburagi, Haveri, and Chamarajanagar, while the second phase encompassed Chitradurga, Mandya, Raichur, and Uttara Kannada district. The overarching objective of the initiative is to reduce the prevalence of avoidable blindness in Karnataka.</p>
