<p><strong>Breaking News LIVE:</strong> Please follow this space for all the breaking news and latest updates from India and around the world.</p> <h3><strong>Congress Chief Kharge To Attend Party Meet In Delhi Today:&nbsp;</strong></h3> <p>Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced on Tuesday that a meeting will be held on January 10 to assign responsibilities to the party's various units for the Lok Sabha elections.</p> <p>He said he will travel to Delhi on Wednesday to hold the meeting.</p> <p>"The INDIA bloc has made some decisions regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. I'm heading to Delhi tomorrow. There is a meeting with various units from our party. We need to assign responsibilities to different units," Kharge was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.</p> <p>The 81-year-old Rajya Sabha member stated that the party has appointed over 500 observers in the constituencies. The party has also appointed district-level observers.</p> <h3><strong>Sanitation-Related Drive To Kick Off In Delhi From Wednesday:&nbsp;</strong></h3> <p>Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi announced on Tuesday that a sanitation-related drive will begin on January 10 across all 12 zones, claiming that people will see a "cleaner and better city" in the next one and a half months.</p> <p>She had stated a week before that "marathon inspections" would be conducted to improve the city's cleanliness as part of the "Ab Delhi Hogi Saaf" campaign.</p> <p>"This will be turned into a 'jan jagaran abhiyan' (public awareness campaign), and we want support of the masses, MLAs, councillors, everyone," she told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, as per a PTI report.</p> <p>The mayor also shared a five-day campaign schedule, which begins in the City-Sadar Paharganj Zone.</p> <h3><strong>Delhi HC To Hear DCPCR's Plea Against Freezing Of Funds Today:&nbsp;</strong></h3> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Delhi High Court will hear on Wednesday a petition by the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) against the alleged freezing of its funds by the state authorities.</p> <p>On Tuesday, Justice Subramonium Prasad directed the child rights organization's counsel to serve a copy of the plea to the lieutenant governor's office and notify it of its scheduled listing.</p> <p>The petition was heard by the High Court after being transferred from the Supreme Court.</p> <p>"This petition was transferred from the Supreme Court. The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the petition on the respondent and inform him that the matter will be heard tomorrow," the court stated.</p>
