Genetic Mutations That Promote Reproduction Early In Life Contribute To Ageing, Shorten Lifespan: Study
<p>Having children early in life, or having many children is an evolutionary advantage because it signifies the presence of genes that enhance reproduction. A decades-old evolutionary theory proposed by evolutionary biologist George Williams in 1957 states that genetic mutations that are advantageous early in life in promoting earlier reproduction or the production of more offspring can be favoured by natural selection to contribute to ageing.</p>
