Follow this space for all the live and latest updates.</p> <p>A rocket barrage strike from the Gaza Strip to Israel escalated the tension within the region on Saturday leading to a full-scale war in the area between Israel and Hamas terrorists. Nearly a thousand have died while more than 2,000 were injured following a mass invasion of Hamas militants into Israeli territories. Palestinian officials reported that more than 300 people have been killed in Gaza.</p> <p>Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&rsquo;s office said his Security Cabinet has declared the country at war following a deadly Hamas assault in southern Israel.</p> <p>The decision, announced on Sunday, formally authorises &ldquo;the taking of significant military steps,&rdquo; it said in a statement. &ldquo;The war that was forced on the State of Israel in a murderous terrorist assault from the Gaza Strip began at 06:00 yesterday,&rdquo; it said.</p> <p>Israel's military, which faces questions over its failure to prevent the attack, said it had regained control of most infiltration points, killed hundreds of attackers, and taken dozens more prisoner but was still fighting in some places.</p> <p>It said it had deployed tens of thousands of soldiers in the area surrounding Gaza, a narrow strip that is home to 2.3 million Palestinians, and planned to evacuate all Israelis living around the frontier of the territory.</p> <p>As a retaliatory step,&nbsp;Israel has cut all electricity supplies to Gaza on Sunday following an order from the prime minister's office.&nbsp;Even before the recent events, Gaza residents have been suffering from a growing electricity crisis. Meanwhile, Hamas and the smaller Islamic Jihad group claimed to have taken captive more than 130 people from inside Israel and brought them into Gaza, reported BBC. They said they would be traded for the release of thousands of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.&nbsp;</p>
