This announcement follows India's stellar performance at the Asian Games in Hangzhou over the past two weeks, where Indian athletes secured a remarkable 107 medals, surpassing their previous best of 70 at the 2018 Jakarta edition.</p> <p>The interaction between Prime Minister Modi and the Indian athletes who participated in the Asian Games 2022 is scheduled for 4:30 pm today, as stated by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). This initiative by the Prime Minister is aimed at not only congratulating the athletes for their exceptional achievements at the Asian Games but also at inspiring and motivating them for upcoming competitions.</p> <p>India's medal tally at the recently concluded Asian Games comprised an impressive 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals, marking a significant leap forward in the nation's sporting prowess.</p> <h3><span style="color: #ba372a;"><strong>NewsClick Editor and HR Head To Appear in Court</strong></span></h3> <p>Prabir Purkayastha, the editor-in-chief of NewsClick, and Amit Chakravarty, the head of human relations at the news portal, are likely to appear in court on Tuesday. On October 3, the Delhi Police apprehended both individuals and conducted searches resulting in the seizure of more than 300 electronic devices from NewsClick's office and the residences of its journalists.</p> <p>According to an official cited by news agency PTI, the investigating officer (IO) may request an extension of their remand during the court appearance. The Delhi Police had earlier registered a case on August 17, invoking sections 13, 16, 17, 18, and 22 of the anti-terror Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, along with sections 153A (promoting enmity between two groups) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.</p> <h3><span style="color: #ba372a;"><strong>SP To Observe Mulayam Singh Yadav’s First Death Anniversary</strong></span></h3> <p>The Samajwadi Party (SP) will commemorate the first death anniversary of its founder, the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, on a statewide scale. The primary event is scheduled to take place at his 'Samadhi' in his ancestral village of Saifai in Etawah district, where members of the Yadav family and several party leaders will converge, news agency IANS reported.</p> <p>Mulayam Singh Yadav, who served as Uttar Pradesh chief minister for three terms and as the country's defence minister, passed away on October 10 last year at the age of 82. He had founded the Samajwadi Party in 1992 and was its national president until January 2017.</p> <p>On Tuesday, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav, along with many family members and party leaders, will assemble at Mulayam’s 'Samadhi' in Saifai to pay homage to 'Netaji'.</p>
