Pakistan Health Minister Claims Alcohol, Cocaine Detected In Imran Khan's Medical Test

Traces of alcohol and cocaine consumption were discovered in the body of PTI chairman Imran Khan, according to Pakistan's health minister Abdul Qadir Patel, who cited details of the former prime minister's medical report prepared by the PIMS hospital based on samples taken following his arrest on May 9 by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He claimed that shortly after the deposed premier's arrest, a medical board was formed that included renowned psychologist Dr Rizwan Taj, orthopaedic medicine experts, and medico-legal specialists.

"On May 9, Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi was brought before the medical board for questioning. He was intoxicated when he was taken into custody by NAB," Patel said at a press conference in Islamabad, GEO news quoted him as saying.

The minister stated that the report contained no information about Khan's leg fracture, which he claimed occurred during an assassination attempt in November 2022. He stated that Imran Khan had a plaster on his leg for about five to six months, but the medical report revealed that there was no fracture.

Patel shared the report, which was prepared by a five-member PIMS panel consisting of Dr Rizwan Taj, Dr Sajid Zaki Chowhan, Dr Irshad Hussain, Dr Asfand Yar Khan, and Dr Syed Mehdi Hassan Naqvi, at the press conference.

According to a copy of the report that is circulating on social media, "the gentleman was examined and appears to be under stress with anxiety symptoms. The events of the last few weeks caused widespread rage and anxiety. He had little understanding of the gravity and reality of the current situation. The mental stability is in doubt. Some inappropriate gestures were made."

'Should Be Kept In Museum': Pak Health Min Hits Out At Imran

The minister stated that he would write to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council's (PMDC) disciplinary body regarding doctors who "wrongly" declared the cricketer-turned-politician's leg fractured. While referring to the PTI chairman as a narcissist, Patel stated that the former prime minister "should be kept in a museum."

"As a narcissist, he insists on telling lies and calling them the truth. "This narcissist has been inciting people and leading the youth astray," he added.

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) medical fitness certificate for Khan, released to the media on Friday, stated that the former prime minister appeared "under stress with anxiety symptoms" and had "little insight into the seriousness and reality of the current situation."

PTI To Take Legal Action Against Pak Minister:

Meanwhile, the PTI announced that it has decided to take legal action against Patel and his assistants over claims about party Khan's medical condition. The party stated that the decision was made with Khan's approval and that its legal team, led by Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi, had begun preparations.

Farrukh Habib of the PTI responded sternly to the health minister's remarks, calling Patel's claims "shameless and vulgar." He stated that such "nonsense" would not be tolerated or permitted by the PTI.
